Manage clients and invoices

Workspace owners and administrators manage client records and invoices under Business. These tools are separate from Stripe subscription billing.

Create a client with its contact and address details, currency, hourly rate, default tax, and payment terms. A client can be linked to many projects, but each project has at most one current client. Project owners and administrators can choose an existing active client from the project's Billing settings.

New time entries on a client-linked project default to billable. ToDoddle keeps exact elapsed seconds for project history. Invoice calculations round each completed billable entry up to 15 minutes.

To create a draft invoice:

  1. Select a client.
  2. Select one linked project or All projects.
  3. Choose completed, billable, active time entries that are not on another active invoice.
  4. Review the service period, generated project lines, rates, discounts, tax, notes, and terms.

A cross-project invoice creates one generated time line for each included project. Draft content can be edited. Issuing allocates the next workspace invoice number and stores an immutable copy of the issuer, client, and commercial details. Issued invoices can be marked sent, receive partial or full manual payments, and render as PDF.

An unpaid issued invoice can be voided. Voiding keeps its history and releases its source time so you can create a correction draft. An invoice with recorded payments cannot be voided until those payments are reversed or removed.

Changing a project's client previews the effect on unresolved drafts. Depending on currency, you can rebuild affected drafts with the new client's terms or transfer them unchanged. Issued invoice history never changes.

Agent Connections can read and record task time when granted explicit time scopes. Client and invoice operations remain website-only.
