Notes, documents, and files

Use Notes for Markdown knowledge with hierarchy, stable slugs, search, activity, and ordering. Workspace Notes are visible at workspace scope. Project Notes are a separate tree and require access to that project. An editor can move a Note and its children between these scopes. Use Context for authoritative project intent and decisions. Use Documents for uploaded files, previews, downloads, and ticket attachments.

An editor can select Pin as home on any Note. That Note opens first for its workspace or project collection and also remains in the normal Note tree. Each collection has at most one Home Note. Pinning another Note replaces the current Home Note in that collection. If no Note is pinned, the Notes landing page lists every root Note. Moving a Note to another collection clears its Home status.

Project documents are private by default. The browser sends the project and document identifiers to ToDoddle; the server checks access, derives the storage path, and returns a non-cacheable signed URL that expires after five minutes. Do not copy signed preview or download URLs into durable comments or Notes.

The shared file viewer previews images, plain text, Markdown, supported video, and PDF documents. Image previews support zoom from 100% to 400% and dragging while zoomed. PDF files up to 50 MiB open one page at a time with page and zoom controls. Download a larger PDF to view it safely. ToDoddle checks access again whenever it loads preview content.

Uploads are limited by the workspace's subscription plan:

  • Free: 5 MiB per file, 100 MiB total, no video upload or playback.
  • Hobby: 50 MiB per file, 2 GiB total, 500 MiB source-video storage.
  • Pro: 250 MiB per file, 25 GiB total, 5 GiB source-video storage.
  • Business: 1 GiB per file, 100 GiB total, 25 GiB source-video storage.

Small files may pass through the application so thumbnails can be produced. Larger files upload directly from the browser to private object storage, while video uses the protected streaming service. Pending uploads remain hidden until storage verifies the object.

Notes, Context, ticket text, and comments share one rich editor that stores Markdown. It supports GitHub-style tables. While editing a table, use Edit table to add or remove rows and columns or delete the table. A rendered table has a copy action that copies that table, including its header, as CSV.

Agent Connections need explicit document scopes and a compatible project grant. Local MCP uploads are restricted to configured absolute upload roots; HTTPS uploads are fetched and streamed by the local MCP process. In either case, file bodies travel directly to storage rather than through MCP JSON-RPC or the application server.

Ticket attachments can also use Replay to record a browser tab, window, or screen for up to five minutes. Microphone capture is off until you enable it. ToDoddle keeps the recording local until you review it and choose to attach it. The Replay control stays hidden in browsers that do not support screen capture.
