Set up browser push notifications

Browser push can alert you to a direct message, mention, reply, assignment, review request, deadline, or human handoff while ToDoddle is hidden. Alerts use the notification choices saved in Profile → Notifications.

Enable this browser

  1. Open Profile → Notifications.
  2. Find Browser push and select Enable this device.
  3. Allow notifications when the browser asks.
  4. Confirm that the browser appears under Active devices.

You can rename or disable a device at any time. Disable all stops push on every registered device.

Brave needs one extra setting

Brave uses Google services to register and deliver Web Push messages. Notification permission alone is not enough when this service is disabled.

  1. Open brave://settings/privacy in Brave.
  2. Enable Use Google services for push messaging.
  3. Fully quit and reopen Brave.
  4. Return to Profile → Notifications and enable the device.

See Brave's privacy settings guide for the browser setting.

This switch lets Brave connect to Google's push delivery service. ToDoddle sends an encrypted push message to the private endpoint created by Brave. The provider can process delivery information, such as the endpoint and delivery time, but cannot decrypt the message content. ToDoddle uses generic alert text and resolves the protected destination only after you open the notification.

iPhone and iPad

Install ToDoddle on the Home Screen first. Open the installed app, then use Profile → Notifications to enable the device. Push is not available from an ordinary browser tab on these devices.

If setup fails

  • Confirm that the browser is not in a private window.
  • Confirm that notification permission is allowed for the current ToDoddle site.
  • In Brave, confirm that Google push messaging is enabled and restart the browser.
  • Reload ToDoddle and try again.
  • If permission is blocked, change the site permission in the browser. ToDoddle cannot show the permission prompt again after the browser blocks it.

An active device confirms registration. It does not override your saved notification choices, access checks, quiet-hour rules, or alert limits.
