Run recurring project check-ins

Open a project and select Check-ins. A project member can create a daily, weekly, or monthly question. Choose its days, time, timezone, and start date. Assign everyone in the project or select specific people.

Each due period is a separate occurrence. Its participant list is fixed when the occurrence opens. A later membership change affects future occurrences, but it does not rewrite earlier ones. ToDoddle can open the next occurrence while an unanswered earlier occurrence stays overdue. If the scheduler misses several periods, it opens only the latest due period. It does not create old occurrences or send a backlog of alerts.

An assigned participant can save one answer and update it while the occurrence is open. This includes a project viewer who was assigned to that occurrence. People who were not assigned can read the answers but cannot add one. Open My Work → Check-ins to find unanswered occurrences across your accessible projects.

Project owners and administrators can close or reopen an occurrence. Closing it makes its answers read-only. They can also deactivate the recurring question when the project no longer needs it.

Use Link Context to attach an optional pre-read or outcome. Use Follow-up ticket to create normal project work from an occurrence. When an outcome is linked, the new ticket also links to that Context item.

Choose when check-ins run

Choose Daily, Weekly, or Monthly when you create a check-in. Weekly lets you select several days, such as Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Weekdays only selects Monday through Friday. Monthly lets you choose a day from 1 to 31; shorter months use their last day.

Set Run at, Start on or after, and Timezone. The form shows the next run before you save. The check-in waits until that time to open and notify its participants. Delivery depends on the notification job and can arrive shortly after the scheduled time.

Use Edit check-in schedule on a check-in card to change its days or time. Existing answers stay unchanged. The local run time stays fixed when daylight saving time changes. A time inside a skipped hour moves forward by the clock change; a repeated time runs once.
